Skateboarding in Afghanistan?
Absolutely. As soon as Australian skateboarders Oliver Percovich and Sharna Nolan dropped their boards in Kabul in 2007, they were surrounded by the eager faces of children of all ages who wanted to be shown how to skate. Stretching out the three boards they had brought with them, they developed a small skate school.
When the weather gets down to single syllables and your fingers hurt just by touching the sidealk, there’s no place like the skatepark. Zak’s filmed a video at his local park in Milford with some sick buttery fluttering ninnermans and awesome click knocking manuals. Those are tricks I invented. You’re welcome. – Tony
Tron came out this past week and premiered with a mini-ramp session in Melbourne. Check out the video below. Where’s ours? We like skating too! – Tony
With so many parts to choose from, whether it’s from one of Flip’s Sorry videos or an Arto Saari part in general; I’ve nominated an Arto extra, from Alien Workshop’s, Mindfield.
Reason #1: It’s sick.
Reason #2: You probably haven’t seen it. – Tony
Transworld ushered out this legendary SoCal spot with a hefty contest. The Carlsbad gap has had plenty done over it over the years, but on this day, tricks went down for the record books. The day’s big winners were Nick Merlino, Moose, Nick Fiorini, and Silent Mike. – Tony
This just popped up on my radar this morning. It is good. Even better than tacos. – Tony
Ryan Ticknor skating Eastern Pulse in Milford.
Check out my review of the Eastern Pulse Skatepark here.
Seriously, like, if I didn’t post this YouTuuuber, like, I’d be doing this whole establishment a disservice. Bwwwaaaahhh! – Tony
A cold Sunday and an urge to skate means hitting up an indoor skatepark for me these days. I’m not afraid to admit that I’ve become anxious when it comes to skating in 30 degree weather, with wind gusts interfering with my flip tricks. So, this past Sunday, with friends, Jay Naarden and George Lamont, I took a trip to Eastern Pulse’s, Gaps Skatepark, in Milford.
I arrived at Jay’s place over hearing a phone conversation with George about attire, which was quite odd considering both of them are coated in some type of flannel every day.
